Sunshine Movie Review

BOTTOM LINE: Science socket, and visually stunning - Thriller, so that only a weak second half of the psycho / foreign-kill crew subplot.

THE GOOD: Sunshine of classics like "2001 inspired: A Space Odyssey," "Alien" and "Blade Runner" in the visual department, and it shows: The pictures are absolutely outstanding. The film also shares some tonal quality, which adds the sense of realism that runs through these fabulous viewsFilm. Really felt like I was there, and is credited to director Danny Boyle and his team have succeeded in this world with a budget far less than expected to make (the film looks like a $ 100 + miles but was only briefly over half of them). The scenario with the "relaunch" of the sun, is to save the solar system and intelligent, with plenty of space to a series of philosophical discussions and intelligently on the place of humans given in the universe. The cast is excellent, without the use of large stars are only seen Cillian Murphy and Michelle Yeoh best possible way. Murphy, in particular, was an interesting choice, I had always associated with men crazy, because he was not so good, but this time he plays the straight guy totally convincing. The film is a wonderful film, and it really works rather than in space ... at least during the first half of the film.

THE BAD: The last half of the film losesits application when it killed psycho-killer/alien is a secular story of an old cliché space, the crew of the ship, one after the other. It was "one million times, and because the directors believe it is necessary to put in this film, especially as the main plot was strong enough for the rest of the film support is a complete mystery. Finally, the miracle of inspiration and incredibly realistic depiction of space, that the film has created. Of course there are all the claustrophobiaAngle and how the impact on the mental health of the team, but maybe Let It Be could this time.

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (with Movie Cash)

20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (with Movie Cash) Review

I watched this movie when it originally aired on TV, and it inspired me to want to read the book. I had only seen the Disney movie before, but not since I was a little kid so I didn't really remember it. The book ended up being really different, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this movie. The Stanley Kubrick version of The Shining doesn't have much to do with the book it's based on either, but I still love it. If you can watch this version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea as it's own thing, it's actually really good. I actually always thought it was one of the best made-for-tv movies, and I wanted to see it again but they never reaired it. Finally it came out on DVD after YEARS of searching for it, and I still like it.

I don't understand all the negative reviews. I'm probably going to get attacked for this, but I actually like this better than the Disney movie, which I watched again not long after this aired. The Disney movie feels to me like a travelogue and has minimal story. This version has a better story and a more climactic ending. There's more happening. It's darker, edgier. There's more character development, and a couple new characters (Nemo's daughter, played by Mia Sara), which may make some people mad but I thought it added to the story. One of the criticisms I've heard people make of Jules Verne is that he wasn't very good at writing women. All the same themes and ideas are here, some of them are just presented in a different way. The special effects aren't as good as I remembered, they look kind of cheap, but halfway through the movie you stop noticing because you're drawn into the story.

Anyway, give it a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised.

It is the job of a curious marine expert, Professor Pierre Aronnax (Patrick Dempsey from the hit TV show "Grey's Anatomy") and the iron-willed sailor, Ned Land (Bryan Brown) to learn the truth of the "monster" roaming the depths of the ocean. Their discovery begins when th

The Best of Star Trek: The Original Series

The Best of Star Trek: The Original Series Review

This is a great way for anyone who owns the original broadcast shows as a set. CBS/Paramount assembled some really good episodes in the remastered versions. Why bother? Well, let me tell you. The remastered versions are incredibly well done. They include added exterior space shots, plus the Enterprise looks slightly darker in color - making it look more like the color of the ship on Next Generation. PLUS---and this is amazing - the artists who did all the painstaking work on this--did an excellent job adding new shots - like in "Amok Time" - on the remastered version - we see a super wide shot of Capt Kirk, Dr. McCoy and Mr. Spock walk toward the center of the meeting place---it's AMAZING!!! Love it. Plus - when we see the Enterprise shoot her weapons, the weapons are more colorful, more precise and just a heckuva lot cooler. So for anyone hesitating about buying the remastered set--- it's money well spent. Perhaps one has to be a truly truly hard-core Star Trek fan to want the newer versions, or heck, maybe you're thinking only true fans would stick with the originals - but regardless of what you decide, this "Best of" DVD is a cool way to take a peek at what the remastered versions look like. As for it's cost of - please, it's SOOO worth it.

Land of the Lost Movie Review

Summer must be here and the schools, like this time of year to release the dissolved in a certain genre of film looks, and hopefully entertain the family while away an afternoon. The Land of the Lost spanning the science fiction / screwball comedy genre, and if you spend value on a rainy afternoon in the cinema, this film will deliver a series of beautiful moments of comedy. It has its staged set pieces and entertaining routines. The best lines are deliveredplayed by major stars of the movie, Will Ferrell, which Dr. Rich Marshall. The cast includes Anna Friel plays a research assistant and Danny McBride as a kind of American version of Ray Mears's survival () expert. However, be advised that this film is directed by Brad Silberling, is a bit near the knuckle with his humor on a number of occasions, some parents of very young children can not find appropriate humor.

How many summer movies is the action is very simple. This film is looselyBased on the popular TV series of the 1960s with the same title. Our unlikely hero trio show at the end, Dr. Marshall's theory of time travel right and end up in a strange parallel world of early hominids, lizard men, pterosaurs and dinosaurs inhabited naturally. The chase scenes with the T. rex makes Will Ferrell a chance to test some of the theories scientists have about this great predator. For example, asking how quickly a T. rex, this dinosaur was able to quicklyand the like. We enjoyed the references made to some of these theories and concepts.

Brad Silberling was established as a top Hollywood director for a number of years. The last image we saw that he had directed, the film was for children Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, starring Jim Carrey. The film also played Liam Aiken. This example of earlier work by Brad Silberling was based on a novel by Daniel Handler. The humor in this last example of the workMr. Silberling is a bit darker than in the Land of the Lost. In the movie Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, the story concerns three orphans are sent to live with her uncle. He always tries to kill a bizarre way that all good family entertainment, and the role of assassin, Jim Carrey is excellent. The humor in the Land of the Lost, though aimed at children, put more on slapstick and staged set pieces for the Bestlaughs.

If you like the clumsiness Humor Will Ferrell, it will not be disappointed. As previously mentioned, the film is on an old American TV series is based, since we can not remember this TV show, it is difficult to compare this new film with the original TV programs.

Chased by a Tyrannosaurus rex and other tribes there with much enthusiasm, Will Ferrell does not seem to be affected for new film. Hardly Land of the Lost had finished, Mr. Ferrellembarked on a number of new film projects including a Sherlock Holmes story. It seems that for Will Ferrell things are going to come round in a nice, neat circle. He has starred in a film called Land of the Lost and one of his next roles is going to be playing in a Sherlock Holmes movie, the character was the creation of the author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that penned the novel The Lost World, the story of Professor Challenger and his team visiting a strange land and struggles with prehistoric animals.

The Lost World novel was a sensation when it printed the first time it was made into a movie in the late 1920s. This was one of the first film roles for dinosaurs were the prehistoric creatures brought to life with the help of models and stop / start-motion animation techniques. The special effects for this particular movie were created by Willis H. O'Brien, an early pioneer of special effects industry. Mr. O'Brien went to work on perhaps the most famousMonster movie of all time, King Kong, scenes with some great apes. King Kong was released in 1933 and is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential films ever seen. It allows a movie audience, dinosaurs and other fantastic creatures and define the genre of science fiction / fantasy in the field of view of established Hollywood. The film "King Kong Fay Wray as the beauty of domestication of the giant prehistoric animals cost to make just a few thousand dollars, but went onbreak many box office records and became a sensation at the terminal. The screenplay for this film was inspired by the novel, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World.

Visiting a foreign country and having to get to grips with a Tyrannosaurus rex in the Land of the Lost seems ideal training for Will Ferrell, as he prepares for his role in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes-inspired film.
